I used to live a few miles from their stores in Santa Ana and Covina and thus was able to try out different models and tone woods, etc., and see the finishes, which are even more gorgeous than in the pictures. Every dollar spent on a Carvin is for the guitar, not for a name. When you order one they make that guitar for YOU, and there are so many options available. The workmanship and materials are outstanding and it's hard to find more beautiful finishes. I believe they are among the best guitars available without spending several thousand dollars. You already know what they are like having had them before. I think Carvin tends to be overlooked since they are not found in the regular music stores and therefore a lot of guys are missing out on a tremendous value and a beautiful instrument. I'm glad you brought up Carvin and included the video. Not to mention I will need to drill a whole for mounting (as they are 1 each side I think, not 2 and 1). Want to do all that at once as easier to do pickups with the strings off.

Glad you and your CT are getting on surf, install those mules yet? Hoping my pickups, sustain block, the key (floyd intonation tool) and spring remover come in this week. Shame they don't have a 27" scale 7, otherwise they would probably end up with my next purchase, albeit Jim and Strictly 7 guitars is an awesome guy (service in ridiculous quantities, I feel I owe him some business for putting up with me).

Either way at the end of the day they get it done, so I'll drink to that.

Maybe they should charge a bit more and hire some enthusiastic CS, every one I have spoken to is monotone. You just cannot beat carvins prices, they are charges you less than mass production prices for quality the meets or exceeds other companies custom shops. I just let one go because it was my #2, comfy, sounded alright, but took back seat to my other carvin. Gotta toss a hat to carvin, although the screw up now and then, and have some issues (just like any company) I have never had one of their guitars I did not absolutely love. Here is the video with a just few models you can customize. Order them how you like em, so many options you can choose from to give you that perfect guitar. The video below is very interesting as it is a tour of their manufacturing of the Custom Shop Guitars. they only have a couple of stores in California otherwise you order factory direct.
